Junior Aquatic Championship 2026 Held in Chennai
Chennai: The Junior Aquatic Championship 2026 was held today at Anna Swimming Pool, Chennai, under the theme “Better Health, Better You.” The event was organised by APJ Health Bot LLP, led by its Director Sri Ajay Vijendran, along with Dr. T. Pavani, Pedodontist, Adyar, Chennai.
The championship was graced by Thiru JCD Prabhakar, Hon’ble Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, and Mrs. Omana Thomas, Principal, Sishya School, Adyar. J. Meghanath Reddy, IAS, Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), and Mr. T. V. Vamsidhar, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Government of India, also graced the occasion.
The event received widespread appreciation from parents, students and the sporting community. Around 150 young swimmers participated in nearly 100 events, making the championship a grand success.
The organisers emphasised that the championship aimed to encourage children to embrace sports, fitness, discipline and healthy lifestyles while promoting the importance of participation and perseverance.
In the overall championship standings, ORCA emerged champions with 442 points, followed by SDAT Chennai as runners-up, while Sishya School, Adyar secured the second runner-up position.
The successful championship highlighted the importance of nurturing healthy, confident and active young citizens through sport.
