Mega Prince Varun Tej is making his Pan India debut with Matka which also marks his most expensive film. The film directed by Karuna Kumar and produced by Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Thalluri under the banners of Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments is being mounted on a grand scale. Currently, production works are being done in Hyderabad.

Today, the makers came up with the movie’s first look poster. It presents Varun Tej in two avatars- a youngster and a middle-aged man. The movie will see the journey of the protagonist for 24 years, and he will be seen in four different get-ups. The first look poster shows two shades of the character from an underdog to an overlord. He emerged as the king of his own territory.

He looks young, dashing, and intense in the down image where he is seen smoking a cigar. His dressing style and hairstyle bring vintage vibes. The other image shows him smoking a cigar in a similar style, but he looks rich and old here with spectacles on and grey hair. There is a gun on his table. The King card from playing cards is used as background. The first look which is highly impressive creates a double impact. Seemingly, Varun Tej is coming back to roles that his fans want to see him in.

Meenakshi Chaudhry and Nora Fatehi are the heroines in the movie set in a period backdrop. A Kishor Kumar, GV Prakash Kumar, and Karthika Srinivas R are taking care of the cinematography, music, and editing departments respectively.

The film will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

மெகா பிரின்ஸ் வருண் தேஜ் நடிப்பில், பலாசா 1978, ஸ்ரீ தேவி சோடா சென்டர் படப்புகழ் கருணா குமார் இயக்கத்தில், பான்-இந்திய திரைப்படமாக உருவாகிறது “மட்கா”, டாக்டர் விஜேந்தர் ரெட்டி டீகலா, வைரா என்டர்டெயின்மென்ட்டின் சார்பில், ரஜனி தல்லூரியின் SRT என்டர்டெயின்மென்ட்ஸுடன் இணைந்து, இப்படத்தைத் தயாரிக்கிறார். இப்படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு தற்போது ஹைதராபாத்தில் பிரமாண்ட செட் போடப்பட்டு, பரபரப்பாக நடந்து வருகிறது. மட்கா திரைப்படம், மிகப்பெரும் பட்ஜெட்டில், உயர்தர தொழில்நுட்ப தரங்களுடன்,

வருண் தேஜுவின் பிறந்தநாளை கொண்டாடும் விதத்தில், படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் “மட்கா” திரைப்படத்தின் அறிமுகத்தை, ரசிகர்களுக்கு வழங்கும் வகையில், படத்திலிருந்து ஓப்பனிங் பிராக்கெட் என்ற வீடியோவை வெளியிட்டுள்ளனர். கிராமபோனில் கதாநாயகன் இசையை வாசிப்பதை காட்டும் காட்சியுடன் இந்த வீடியோ துவங்குகிறது. பின் இரண்டு வெவ்வேறு காலகட்டங்களில் வாழும் கதாப்பாத்திரங்களைக் காட்டுகிறது. இதில் நவீன் சந்திரா கேங்ஸ்டராகவும், பி ரவிசங்கர் போலீஸ் அதிகாரியாகவும் நடித்துள்ளனர். கதாநாயகனின் சிறுவயதுப் பகுதி அவன் கபடி விளையாடுவதைக் காட்டுகிறது, பின்னர் அவன் சூதாட்ட மாஃபியாவின் தலைவனாகிறான். அவன் ஒரு சிகார் புகைத்துக்கொண்டு, யாரிடமோ போனில் ‘ப்ராமிஸ்’ என்று சொல்வதோடு வீடியோ நிறைவுபெறுகிறது.

Mega Prince Varun Tej is making a Pan-Indian debut with the film Matka being helmed by Karuna Kumar of Palasa 1978 and Sri Devi Soda Centre fame, Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments is producing the movie, in association with Rajani Talluri’s SRT Entertainments. A massive set is erected in Hyderabad where the shoot is presently underway. Matka is mounted on a large canvas with a high budget and top-notch technical standards.

Extending birthday wishes to Varun Tej, the makers of the movie unveiled a video called Opening Bracket which is meant to show the premise of Matka. It opens with the protagonist playing music on a gramophone. It then shows characters in two different timelines. While Naveen Chandra appeared as a gangster, P Ravi Shankar is seen as a police officer. The childhood portion of the protagonist shows him playing kabaddi and he then becomes the head of the gambling mafia. He smokes a Cigar and tells someone on the phone ‘Promise’.

Although Varun Tej is not completely shown in the clip, it is understood that he underwent a complete makeover to play the very powerful character. His dressing resembles the fashion style of the 80s. The actor brought extra intensity with his gestures and powerful screen presence. The only dialogue ‘promise’ makes a strong impact.

Director Karuna Kumar really succeeded in recreating the milieu from the 50s to the 80s, as the story takes place between 1958 and 1982. The collective efforts of cinematographer A Kishor Kumar and production designer Ashish Teja Pulala bring the bygone vibes. GV Prakash Kumar’s background score is remarkable. The production values are top-class. On the whole, the Opening Bracket attracts the interest.

The story of Matka is based on a real incident that shook the entire nation. Varun Tej will appear in four different get-ups in the movie, as the story spans 24 years.

Norah Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary are roped in to play opposite Varun Tej in the film that also features Naveen Chandra and Kannada Kishore.

Karthika Srinivas R is the editor and Suresh is the art director. The movie will have multiple action sequences which will be supervised by 4 fight masters.

Matka will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.

Mega Prince Varun Tej who is flexible in doing all kinds of movies will be joining forces with director Karuna Kumar of Palasa fame for his 14th movie to be produced on a grand scale by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments. #VT14 movie which is mounted on a grand scale for Varun Tej has been launched grandly today in Hyderabad in the presence of the team and several special guests.

Suresh Babu and the film’s producers handed over the script to the director to start the proceedings. Director Maruthi switched on the camera for the muhurtham shot, while mega producer Allu Aravind sounded the clapboard. Dil Raju did the honorary direction. Harish Shankar launched the title poster.

#VT14 is titled interestingly as Matka and the title poster is designed uniquely and impressively. Matka is a form of gambling. The story which takes place between 1958-1982 is based on a real incident that shook the entire nation and the story is set in the backdrop of Vizag. The story spans 24 years. As the story progresses from 1958 to 82, we are going to see Varun Tej in four different get-ups. The actor indeed will undergo a complete makeover for the movie which will be the highest budget entertainer for the actor.

Norah Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary are roped in to play opposite Varun Tej and the makers have a special song in the movie featuring the Bollywood Star who is making her Tollywood run with this Pan India Feature film. Naveen Chandra and Kannada Kishore are the other prominent cast.

A huge vintage set depicting Vizag in the 60s will be constructed for the movie. The team indeed is taking extra care to get the milieu and the feel of the 60s. Ashish Teja is the production designer and Suresh is the art director.

The makers zeroed in on a team of wonderful technicians to work for the movie. GV Prakash Kumar who is one of the busiest composers in the south will be providing music, while Priyaseth will handle the cinematography. Karthika Srinivas R is the editor.

Matka has a universal appeal, thus it will be made at a Pan India level. This indeed is the first Pan India project for Varun Tej and it will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
