India Retail Excellence Awards 2022, supported by the Retailers Association of India (RAI), were held on 17 August 2022 at Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Chennai.
India Retail Excellence Awards (IREA) recognise achievers in the retail industry every year.
Chennai, August 17, 2022: The RAI ‘Chennai Retail Summit 2022’ culminated in a glittering award ceremony of the ‘India Retail Excellence Awards’ that celebrates the outstanding achievers of the Indian Retail Industry.
Speaking about the awards, Kumar Rajagopalan – Chief Executive Officer, Retailers Association of India (RAI), said, “We are excited about bringing back the India Retail Excellence Awards… a lot has happened in the last two years and there are so many stories of resilience, innovation and exemplary work by retailers from various categories. Through the IREA awards this year, we seek to shine the light on such brands and give them the honour they deserve. We also recognize that some of the brands have learnt invaluable lessons that would help them in creating very valuable brands in the future.”
Adding, Dr Hitesh Bhatt, Director-Marketing & Communication, said, “This year’s entries revealed the kind of good work that’s happening in retail, especially with many new businesses with great concepts entering the market. Therefore, this year, we decided to also felicitate emerging retailers in different categories. It is our way of acknowledging and encouraging new ideas and players that are enriching this sector.”
India Retail Excellence Awards 2022 recognised established and emerging retailers achievers across all formats of retail such as Apparel & Lifestyle, Beauty & Wellness, Home Decor / Home Improvement, Department Store, Food & General Retail, Consumer Durables & IT (CDIT), Jewellery, Footwear, Mobile, Restaurant & QSR and Speciality Retail.
A jury panel comprising eminent personalities from the industry thoroughly evaluated the entries that were shortlisted by a reputed audit agency to select the winners.

The IREA is an annual award function supported by the Retailers Association of India (RAI), which concludes the Chennai Retail Summit. The event is attended by the who’s who of the India Retail industry to celebrate exceptional work in retail.
