MADRAS WEEK CELEBRATED AT VELAMMAL

In connection with Madras Week Celebrations, Velammal Main School, Mogappair campus, organized an awareness seminar on ‘LANDMARKS OF MADRAS” for the students of Class VI to VIII on 24TH August 2019 to brief about the history of Madras .
Mrs Geetha C, Asst.Professor, Dept. of History and Tourism, SDNB Vaishnav College for Women, Chrompet. conducted the session which focused on the origin of Madras and how Chennai is known for its culture, geographical features, new developments such as Medical tourism, IT industry.
As a part of extended learning, various competitions such as album making, poster making and essay writing was conducted and prize winners were honoured by the chief guest. On the whole, Madras Week was celebrated with enthusiasm and students found the session to be useful and informative.
