9th Annual Convocation of Vel’s Institute of science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) addressed by the Vice President Of India Honourable Thiru. M.Venkiah Naidu at Vels university, Pallavaram, chennai.
The Ninth Convocation of the Vels Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies took Place at 4 P.M on 23.4.2019 in the Campus Premises. The Vice President Of India Honourable Thiru. M.Venkiah Naidu was the Chief Guest delivered the Convocation address and Awarded Medals and Certificates to those with first Positions at the University level.
In the Proceedings which took place Under the Leadership of the founder and Chancellor of VISTAS Dr.Ishari K.Ganesh, the Vice – Chancellor Professor Dr.P.Swaminathan delivered the Welcome address and the introduced the 2017-2018 Annual Report Three Towering Personalities Dr.G.Satheesh Reddy , the Chief and Secretary of the Indian Security Research and Development, Thiru.S.Xavier Britto, Industrialist and Founder of Kerry Indev Logistic Private Limited and Padmasri P.T.Usha, a renowned heroine of Sports were Awarded the Degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) Prof . A . Jothi Murugan, Pro-Chancellor (Planning & Development), Ms. Arthi Ganesh, Pro-Chancellor (Academics), Prof. A.R. Veeramani ( Registrar), Prof S.Venkatraman (Controller of Examinations), Members of the Board of Management and Academic Council participated in the proceedings
A Total of 42 Gold , 33 Silver and 30 Bronze Medals were distributed for this academic year; further 1766 Bachelor’s Degrees, 366 Post – Graduate Degrees,144 MPhil Degrees and 71 Doctoral Degrees – in total 2345 Candidates were awarded Degrees on the occasion of the Academic Festival, in which Young Graduates, Professors, Administrative Employees and Parents Participated in large numbers.

சென்னை பல்லாவரத்தில் உள்ள வேல்ஸ் அறிவியல் தொழில்நுட்ப உயர் ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனத்தின் ஒன்பதாம் ஆண்டுப் பட்டமளிப்பு விழா நடைபெற்றது. மாலை 4 மணிக்கு வேல்ஸ் பல்கலைக்கழக வளாகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற பட்டமளிப்பு விழாவில் இந்திய குடியரசுத் துணைத் தலைவர் திரு. எம். வெங்கையா நாயுடு சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக பங்கேற்று பட்டமளிப்பு விழாப் பேருரையாற்றினார். பல்கலைக்கழக அளவில் முதலிடம் பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு பதக்கங்களையும் சான்றிதழ்களையும் வழங்கி கவுரவித்தார்.
விழாவில் பேசிய குடியரசு துணைத் தலைவர் வெங்கய்யா நாயுடு, வேலைவாய்ப்பிற்காக மட்டுமல்லாமல் அறிவை வளர்க்கவும், முன்னேற்றத்துக்காகவும் கல்வி கற்க வேண்டும் என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
உலகின் பல்வேறு நாட்டினர் இந்தியா குறித்து அறிந்துகொள்ள ஆர்வமாக இருப்பதாகக் கூறிய அவர், இந்தியர்கள் திறனைப் பார்த்து உலகமே பிரமிப்பதாகத் தெரிவித்தார். மாணவர்கள், பொதுமக்கள், அரசியல்வாதிகள் உட்பட அனைவரும் எப்போதும் கற்றுக்கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று வெங்கய்யா கூறினார்.
பட்டமளிப்பு விழாவிற்கு வேல்ஸ் பல்கலைக்கழக நிறுவனரும் வேந்தருமான டாக்டர் ஐசரி கே.கணேஷ் தலைமை தாங்கினார். துணைவேந்தர் பேராசிரியர் பி.சுவாமிநாதன் வரவேற்புரையாற்றினார். 2017-2018 ஆம் கல்வி ஆண்டிற்கான ஆண்டறிக்கையை வழங்கினார்.
இவ்விழாவில், இந்தியப் பாதுகாப்பு ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் வளர்ச்சித் துறையின் செயலரும் அந்நிறுவனத்தின் தலைவருமான டாக்டர் ஜி. சத்தீஷ் ரெட்டி அவர்களுக்கும் தொழிலதிபரும் கெர்ரி இண்டேவ் லாஜிஸ்ட்டிக் பிரைவேட் லிமிடெட் நிறுவனத்தின் தலைவருமான திரு.எஸ். சேவியர் பிரிட்டோ அவர்களுக்கும் புகழ்மிகு விளையாட்டு வீராங்கனை பத்மஸ்ரீ திருமதி பி.டி.உஷா அவர்களுக்கும் மதிப்புறு முனைவர் பட்டம் வழங்கி குடியரசு துணைத் தலைவர் வெங்கய்யா நாயுடு கவுரவித்தார்.
இந்தக் கல்வியாண்டில் 42 தங்கப் பதக்கங்களும் 33 வெள்ளிப் பதக்கங்களும் 30 வெண்கலப் பதக்கங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன. மேலும் 1766 இளநிலைப் பட்டங்களும் 363 முதுநிலைப் பட்டங்களும் 145 ஆய்வியல் நிறைஞர் பட்டங்களும் 71 முனைவர் பட்டங்களும் என மொத்தம் 2345 மாணவர்களுக்குப் பட்டங்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.
இந்நிகழ்வில் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் இணைவேந்தர் (திட்டம் மற்றும் வளர்ச்சி) பேராசிரியர் ஏ. ஜோதிமுருகன், இணைவேந்தர் (கல்வி) முனைவர் ஆர்த்திகணேஷ், பதிவாளர் பேராசிரியர் ஏ.ஆர்.வீரமணி, தேர்வுக்கட்டுப்பாட்டு அலுவலர் பேராசிரியர் எஸ்.வெங்கட்ராமன், பல்கலைக்கழக நிர்வாகக்குழு உறுப்பினர்கள் மற்றும் கல்வி அலுவல் குழு உறுப்பினர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர். சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளர்கள், இளம்பட்டதாரிகள், பேராசிரியர்கள், அலுவலகப் பணியாளர்கள், பெற்றோர்கள் எனப் பெருந்திரளாகக் கலந்துகொண்ட இந்நிகழ்வு வண்ணமிகு வேல்ஸ் கல்வித் திருவிழாவாக நடந்தேறியது.
