4th Chennai International Short Film Festival (CISFF)
(19-25 February 2017)
Encouraged by the success of the third edition, the 4th Edition of Chennai International Short Film Festival will be held from 19th Feb to 25th Feb 2017 in Chennai. The Festival is being organised by Chennai Academy of Motion Picture (CAMP), a non profit making trust to promote good meaningful cinema especially to encourage youngsters by giving a platform to showcase their short films
During third edition, we received around 4000 plus entries from around 90 countries and this year we received nearly 6200 entries before the closing date. We received entries from more than 95 countries. In a way CAMP is very happy to see the growth of the festival within a span of four years. This was possible mainly because of the support and encouragement given by the festival President Mr S. Kannan and Vice President Mr B. Ramakrishnan who have been motivating from day one.
The main aim of the festival is to give a platform for the upcoming short film makers. We believe after tasting the success, the short film makers can go to the next level of making their debut feature films. In fact CAMP had witnessed success stories of film makers who have been approached by producers for feature films. It is more or less a stepping stone for the short film makers.
Due to various reasons we have restricted our selection process to competition and world cinema in all the three categories namely Short Fiction, Short Animation and Short Documentaries.
The winning entries will be receiving trophies and certificates in each category
The competition films would be judged by Sh Amshan Kumar noted award winning film director, Sh B. Sivakumar National and International award winning short film maker and Sh Vijay Jayapal, young film maker of Revelations fame.
The chief guest for the opening day on 19th Feb is Mr Seenu Ramasamy the national award winning film maker and the chief guest on the closing and award function will be by the Grammy Award Winner Mr Ricky Kej
