Producer Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi-Khushi unveil wax statue of Late Veteran actress Sridevi at Madame Tussauds Singapore
One more honour to the immortal legendary late actress Sridevi happens as her real-look alike wax statue of the actress has been unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Singapore today (September 4). What’s more appealing to the eyes is the wax figure being modeled on the actress’ evergreen number “Hawa Hawai” from Boney Kapoor’s yesteryear production “Mr. India”. The statue was unveiled by late actress Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor and daughters – Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
Sharing the news on emotional note, Boney Kapoor says, “My family and I continue to be overwhelmed by the respect and love that has come my wife Sridevi’s way more so after she passed away. But an honour such as this, makes it abundantly evident that she lives on through her work. She was my wife and I love her beyond imagination but I also very much respected her art, the passion and dedication with which she committed herself to her work. I hope that her figure at the Madam Tussauds will serve as a reminder of the legacy she leaves behind.”

மறைந்த நடிகை ஸ்ரீதேவியின் மெழுகுச் சிலை கடந்த செப்டம்பர் 4ஆம் தேதியன்று சிங்கப்பூர் மேடம் டொசார்ட் அருங்காட்சியகத்தில் திறக்கப்பட்டது. ஸ்ரீதேவியின் கணவர் போனி கபூர் மகள்கள் ஜான்வி கபூர் மற்றும் குஷி கபூர் ஆகியோர் இந்தத் திறப்பு விழா நிகழ்ச்சியில் பங்கு பெற்றனர். இந்திய ரசிகர்கள் மனதில் நீங்கா இடம் பிடித்திருக்கும் மிஸ்டர் இந்தியா படத்தில் இடம் பெற்ற ஹவா ஹவாய் பாடலில் நடித்த ஸ்ரீதேவியின் தோற்றத்தில் இந்த சிலை வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டிருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
விழாவின் உணர்ச்சிகரமான ஒரு தருணத்தில் போனி கபூர் பேசும்போது, “ஸ்ரீதேவிமீது மக்கள் எந்த அளவுக்கு அன்பையும் மரியாதையும் வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்பது குறித்து நானும் என் குடும்பத்தாரும் நெகிழ்ச்சியுடன் நினைவு கூர்கிறோம். மனைவி என்ற முறையில் அவரது கலை தாகத்தையும், சினிமா மீதான ஈர்ப்பையும், நடிப்பில் காட்டிய அர்பணிப்பு உணர்வையும் என்றென்றும் மதிக்கக் கடமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன். நடித்த படங்கள் மூலம் என்றும் அவர் நம் நினைவில் நிலைத்திருப்பதைப்போல், கெளரவம் மிக்க இந்த மெழுகுச் சிலை மூலம் என்றென்றும் அவர் நம்முடன் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருப்பார்” என்று குறிப்பிட்டார்.
