“Sunshine Special” – Special Needs Children Plant Saplings

CHENNAI, India. – In light of the city suffering a particularly severe drought, over
50 special needs children gathered together on Sunday at Y.M.C.A College of Physical
Education, Nandanam, Chennai, to plant saplings. The event titled “Sunshine Special” was
organized by Evoke Media, hosting partner of the Special Olympics International Football
Championship (SOIFC) 2019.

The event was graced by Big Boss star Daniel Annie Pope and his spouse Denisha Daniel
along with International Surfer Ms. Vilassini Sundar. The celebrities interacted with the
special children and planted saplings alongside them, as an effort to replenish the vegetation in a city distressed by a harsh summer season.

The objectives of the event were to bring together differently-abled children in a green
initiative as well as to raise awareness regarding the tournament, the SOIFC 2019, scheduled to happen for their cause between August 3rd to 6th at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai.

As a part of “Sunshine Special”, the guests of honour, the children, and the SOIFC board
planted 50 saplings, adding significantly to the flora at Y.M.C.A College. The children
reveled in this green experience and learned some hands-on gardening from experienced
professionals.
