Road Safety Summer Camp for students
• This summer holidays over 350 school children will learn about road safety with fun
• New engaging road safety activities for children
Chennai, June 19, 2019:Firmly believing that awareness on road safety should start from young students to make a safer Chennai of tomorrow, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) in association with Greater Chennai Corporation today announced the Road Safety Summer Camp for school children in the city as part of citizen friendly measure.
Starting today, the Summer camp will continue till 25th June, 2019 atChildren Traffic Training Park, near Napier bridge, Chepauk, Chennai. Over 350 school students will be given traffic awareness education by Honda’s skilled safety instructors and police officials.
The Road Safety Summer Campwas inaugurated by chief guestMr. M. Govinda Rao, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Works department, Mr. Kumaravel Pandian, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Education department and Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking on why Honda is reaching out to students in Chennai and the need for greater road safety awareness, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Being in the business of mobility, Road Safety education is an integral part of Honda’s corporate social responsibility. With a strong intention of making road use safer in all aspects, we have been extensively educating all spectrum of society on Road Safety education for several years. The youth of today are the ones who are going to be responsible citizens. This summer vacation, Honda 2Wheelers India in association with Greater Chennai Corporation is once again spreading the message of road safety with this unique summer camp.”
This summer holidays, Honda is organizing road safety awareness summer camps all across India to sensitize school students. Already, around 3000 school students have learnt about road safety in a fun way with Honda.
Making learning on the serious topic of road safety more fun-oriented, Honda is conducting several activities for school students in Chennai which includes: –
• INTERACTIVE SESSION: Honda’s specially trained road safety instructors to educate children about the do’s and don’ts while commuting in a school bus and cycling.
• PRACTICAL LEARNING: School going students will learn to ride their cycle safely, or as a pillion on two-wheeler and importance of safety gear on roads. To make this learning more practical and fun, children will learn on the specially imported CRF50 motorcycles.
• SCIENTIFIC THEORY MODULE THROUGH INTERACTIVE LEARNING: Honda will also conduct Safety riding theory session and fun educational activities like road safety games and quizzes on daily basis so that young school children learn about safe riding in a fun way.

For Honda globally, road safety comes first. Honda has been promoting road safety in India since its inception in 2001 and has already spread road safety awareness to 26 lac Indians. Under its CSR commitment, Honda’s safety riding and training programmes held daily at its 13 adopted traffic parks across India (2 in Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Yeola, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ludhiana, Coimbatore, Karnal and Thane).
